Boba is a collaborative platform designed to bring writers, editors, designers, and publishers together in one intuitive creative environment. Combining real-time collaboration with purpose-built tools and an integrated professional marketplace, Boba aims to simplify the journey from first idea to finished publication.
The visual identity reflects this collaborative ecosystem through a distinctive symbol representing four creative disciplines converging around a shared idea, paired with a modular wordmark and a flexible visual system built for digital experiences.

The main challenge was creating an identity that could communicate trust, intuition, and modernity while still feeling creative and approachable.
Boba operates across several disciplines, each with its own visual language and expectations. The identity needed to bring these different audiences together without becoming overly corporate, generic, or visually complex. It also had to work primarily in digital environments and feel distinctive within a landscape of increasingly similar creative and productivity platforms.
The identity began with the idea of connection – bringing different creative roles together around a shared idea.
These individual roles were then brought together into a single modular symbol. Each shape functions independently, but when combined, they create a unified mark – reflecting how Boba connects different people and disciplines into one creative ecosystem.
The wordmark followed the same principle. Rather than constructing four unrelated letters, one adaptable letterform is rotated and transformed to create the letters in BOBA. This creates a simple visual system that feels intuitive and reinforces the platform’s modular approach.
The color palette assigns a distinct color to each creative discipline while using a dark charcoal foundation to introduce maturity and trust. The four colors then extend beyond the logo into the wider identity, allowing roles and tools to be visually distinguished throughout the platform.
Finally, the individual symbol was developed into a repeating pattern, transforming the four-part mark into a connected visual field. The pattern represents the broader creative community – individual people and disciplines connecting to form something larger together.
